Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health announced today on X that there have been a total of 2,367 killed and 11,088 injured since October 8th, 2023.

As of the most recent Flash Update from UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) on October 14th, 2024:

  • 890 children have been injured and 127 children have died as the result of ongoing hostilities
  • 400,000 children have been displaced in the past three weeks alone
  • Government shelters currently accomodate 188,146 of the 1.2 million displaced persons
  • 83% of shelters are at capacity
  • 326,763 people have fled Lebanon altogether
UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, reports the following:
  •  25% of Lebanon is under Israeli military evacuation orders
  • 50% of the healthcare facilities in the south of Lebanon are damaged, destroyed, or closed
  • 283,000 people have fled Lebanon for Syria, further complicating the ongoing crises there

World Health Organization (WHO) reports on attacks on Lebanon’s healthcare infrastruction:  “Since the escalation of hostilities between Israel and Lebanon on 17 September 2024, WHO has verified 23 attacks on health care in Lebanon that have led to 72 deaths and 43 injuries among health workers and patients. Fifteen incidents impacted health facilities, while 13 impacted health transport.”

UNIFIL – United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon – has reported on X multiple attacks on their peacekeeping forces in Lebanon by Israel.
