HUMANITARIAN AID
ANSWERING THE CALL
WAM responds to war, poverty, natural disasters, and religious persecution by delivering humanitarian aid where it is needed most.
Join us in our mission to share the love of Christ through the gift of food parcels, hygiene kits, medicine, and other essential aid.
For 15 long years, Nadine, a 61-year-old widow, has carried the quiet weight of hardship. After losing her husband to kidney disease, she was left to raise their son on her own. At just five years old, he became her reason to keep going—and now, at twenty, he works tirelessly to support them both and pay for his university studies. The load he carries is heavy for someone so young, but he bears it with love and determination.
Life for Nadine has not been easy. After her husband died, she transformed a small shop into a makeshift home, doing her best with what little she had. Without a proper kitchen, she washed dishes on the floor and prepared meals for her son in challenging conditions. Still, she endured day by day.
Adding to her daily struggles has been the threat of war drawing ever closer and the fragility of a ceasefire that threatens to break. Though she has not been displaced, the fear of violence is a weight she has carried for over a year. Like many across Lebanon, Nadine lives with the constant worry that the fragile peace could shatter at any moment, turning her quiet life into chaos. It’s a fear that deepens her vulnerability and makes the support she receives even more vital.
When the WAM team visited Nadine, we were deeply moved by her story. We knew we had to act. With compassion and care, we built her a real kitchen—a space where she could cook and clean with comfort and dignity. As she stood in her new kitchen, Nadine’s eyes welled with tears. “You’ve given me more than just a kitchen,” she said. “You’ve given me hope.”
Her son, too, felt the difference. Knowing that his mother had a safe and functional space at home eased a burden he had carried for years.
But the story didn’t end there. Nadine and her son also received vital support through WAM’s humanitarian programs—food parcels, hygiene kits, and winter heating assistance. Each act of kindness reminded Nadine that she is not alone; she is, indeed, secure in the love and prayers of her Christian brothers and sisters all over the world.
Through your support, WAM walks alongside women like Nadine, helping turn quiet struggle into quiet strength.
