Independent, Private, and Impactful Funding
Recent discussions about the defunding of USAID and other government-backed aid programs have raised concerns about the impact on humanitarian organizations. We want to reassure our donors and supporters that WAM is not funded by USAID. Our work is sustained through private donations and small grants, which means that government budget cuts do not affect our ability to serve those in need.
We are still here and we are still doing the vital work of alleviating human suffering.
The differences between private funding and government/UN funding are significant.
- Private Funding (how WAM operates)
- Comes from individuals, churches, foundations, and small grants. You fuel our ministry!
- Provides us the religious freedom to obey our calling to serve others in the name of Jesus Christ.
- Allows us to work with flexibility and independence, ensuring that every dollar directly impacts those we serve in their moment of need.
- Enables us to respond quickly to crises without bureaucratic delays.
- Government/UN Funding (how USAID/large NGOs operate)
- Comes with strict regulations, cumbersome reporting requirements, and sometimes even political considerations.
- Often takes months or years to secure, limiting the ability to act swiftly in emergencies.
- Can be subject to defunding or redirection based on government policies.
- Private Funding (how WAM operates)
Because WAM is privately funded, we are not vulnerable to shifts in government aid policies. However, this also means that we depend entirely on the generosity of our donors to continue our mission. Your support ensures that we can provide medical aid, disaster relief, sustainable agriculture, and humanitarian assistance to those who need it most—immediately and without restriction.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Your giving makes an immediate, lasting impact on suffering communities throughout the Middle East.
