earthquake in syria

In February 2023, Syria was struck by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that further devastated a land destroyed by thirteen years of war. More than 6,000 people were killed in Syria, which received $5 billion in damages. The earthquake displaced tens of thousands of people in Syria, many of whom were already displaced by war.

WAM responded with warm coats, hot meals, emergency food parcels, essential hygiene supplies, and temporary shelter. Over a year later, many continue to be displaced.
